Each listed component has a 1,000-image rating. A colour ribbon and a transfer film perform different steps in the print process; the set is not an extra 2,000 finished-card allowance.

Retransfer printing applies the design through a separate film and is useful when printing smart cards with uneven surfaces. Choose the approved card construction for your printer, then match the chip and enrolment requirements to your reader system.
