Choose the pass format first

Visible enough on-site. Practical enough to wear.

A bank-card-sized pass works well when it needs to fit a wallet or holder. Larger 100 × 70mm and 120 × 80mm formats provide more space for event branding, access zones, names and sponsor information when the pass will be worn on a lanyard.

Tell us how the card will be displayed and what staff need to see from a distance. We will help you choose a size before the artwork is finalised.

01

Standard CR80

Approximately 86 × 54mm

A familiar wallet-size format for reusable credentials, invitations, compact VIP cards and passes carried in a standard holder.

02

Standard event pass

100 × 70mm

A larger visible format suited to delegate badges, exhibitions, conferences and event credentials worn on a lanyard.

03

Large or custom

120 × 80mm or bespoke

More room for clear roles, access levels, sponsor branding or event information. Other sizes can be discussed for specialist requirements.

Personalisation and scanning

The information staff need, where they expect to find it.

Event cards can carry the same artwork throughout a run or be personalised for each attendee. If the pass will be scanned, tell us which check-in platform, scanner or mobile application is being used before the code layout is approved.

Names and roles

Clear attendee identification

Print names, organisations, job titles, event roles or access levels from supplied data.

Barcode

Prepared for the chosen scanner

Use a compatible barcode format with enough contrast, width and clear space for reliable reads.

QR code

Unique or shared codes

Add one event link to every pass or create a different code for each delegate or credential.

Numbering

Visible issue control

Add sequential or supplied numbers for checking, replacements and manual record keeping.

One event, several credentials

Make every access level easy to recognise.

Different passes can share the same event identity while using strong colour, large role names and clear zones to distinguish attendees, crew and restricted access. Split quantities can be planned around the people who will actually receive each version.

Where printed event cards are used

Built for the front desk, entrance and event floor.

The right format depends on the audience, the duration of the event and how each credential will be checked.

Delegate accreditation

Display names, organisations, ticket levels and scannable check-in information clearly.

Exhibitions

Exhibitor and visitor passes

Separate exhibitors, contractors, visitors and organisers without losing a consistent visual identity.

Festivals

Multi-day access control

Create durable staff, artist, backstage, press and VIP credentials for repeated use during the event.

Venues

Reusable event credentials

Produce passes for hospitality areas, restricted zones, tours and recurring programmes.

Sporting events

Role and zone identification

Distinguish officials, teams, volunteers, media, sponsors and hospitality guests at a glance.

Charity and community

Professional cards for every team

Support registration, fundraising events, volunteers and public-facing organisers with clearly branded passes.

Material and finish choices

Choose the card around its working life.

A short one-day event and a reusable annual credential do not necessarily need the same material. We can compare standard PVC, recycled PVC and lower-plastic alternatives against durability, finish, personalisation and intended use.

01Standard PVC for durable repeated handling
02Recycled PVC for lower-virgin-plastic requirements
03Board and fibre options for suitable event applications
04Gloss or matt finish subject to the chosen specification

Complete the event credential

Passes, lanyards and holders that work together.

Tell us whether the card will be punched directly, placed inside a holder or attached to a bespoke lanyard. Planning the fitting early prevents important text, QR codes and sponsor artwork from sitting underneath a clip or slot.

Common questions

Before you order event cards.

Pass size, finishing, scanning and personalisation should all be agreed before final artwork is prepared.

What event card sizes can ACB print?

ACB supplies standard CR80 cards and larger event formats, including 100 × 70mm and 120 × 80mm. Other dimensions can be discussed through our custom-sized card service.

Can event passes include different names and roles?

Yes. Names, organisations, job titles, pass types, access levels and other variable details can be printed from a supplied spreadsheet or CSV file.

Can you print different pass designs in one project?

Yes. A project can include coordinated designs for delegates, crew, press, exhibitors, VIP guests or other access groups. Tell us the quantity required for each version.

Can you add barcodes or QR codes?

Yes. Shared or unique barcodes and QR codes can be added. Please confirm the scanning system and required code format before artwork approval.

Can event cards be numbered?

Yes. Sequential or supplied numbering can be used for issue control, replacement tracking and manual checking.

Can the passes be supplied with holes or slots?

Suitable cards can be punched or slotted for compatible clips and lanyard fittings. The position should be agreed before artwork is finalised so it does not interfere with important information.

Do you supply lanyards and card holders?

Yes. ACB supplies plain and bespoke lanyards, along with holders, clips, badge reels and related accessories.

Are eco event card materials available?

Recycled PVC, board and fibre-based alternatives may be suitable depending on the required lifespan, finish and event environment. See the ACB eco card range or ask for advice.

Will we receive a proof before printing?

Yes. A proof is supplied for approval so the artwork, wording, pass versions and variable-data positions can be checked before production.
