01 · Choose your design
First, use the online designer or send us your artwork brief. Tell us the quantity, card use and date you need.
02 · Add names and photos
Next, add each person’s details. Check spelling, job titles, photo quality and any employee numbers or codes.
03 · Review and approve
Then review the front and reverse. Approve the proof only when the layout and personal details are correct.
04 · Print and dispatch
Once the order and artwork are ready, we arrange printing and dispatch. Confirm your deadline before ordering if timing is critical.

A printed barcode or QR code is different from a contactless access card. Tell us the exact card technology and system before ordering.
We can discuss printing onto compatible access cards. For example, MIFARE, Paxton and HID requirements need the right stock and specification.

Photo ID card printing UK: your questions answered
Can I order just one photo ID card?
Yes. The standard online photo ID product starts at one card, so you can order a replacement or a small set. For regular new-starter cards, ask us about ongoing ordering.
How much does photo ID card printing cost?
The current standard prices are £3.75 per card for 1–10, £3.25 for 11–50, £2.75 for 51–75 and £2.25 for 76 or more. Prices exclude VAT and delivery. Extra products and specialist services are separate.
When will my ID cards be dispatched?
Production timing depends on your quantity, artwork and card specification. Contact us with your required date. Printing follows approval of the proof and completion of the order requirements; courier transit is separate.
Can I use my own design or your online templates?
Yes. Use the ACB designer to start with a template or a blank layout. If you already have artwork, contact us to confirm the files and personalisation details needed.
Can you add QR codes, barcodes or access technology?
The online designer supports QR codes and barcodes. Contactless access cards need compatible card stock and the correct technology, so discuss the exact system with us before ordering.
Can I choose a different card material?
Ask ACB about the current stock for your application. You can also compare our eco card materials, including recycled PVC, board and wood. The right choice depends on the card’s use and required life.
Are lanyards and card holders included?
They are separate products. Choose holders around the card’s orientation, and select plain, pre-printed or bespoke lanyards to suit your organisation. We can help you coordinate the complete set.
What should I check on my Design Proof?
Check every name, photograph, number and job title. Then check both sides of the layout and test any code data. Approve the proof when the details and design are ready to print.
