The original Evolis Zenius Classic is a USB desktop printer for producing one face of a CR80 staff, student or membership card. It uses direct-to-card colour dye-sublimation or monochrome resin printing, with 300 dpi resolution.

Original Classic and Expert configurations

The Classic option uses the original Zenius Classic specification and a USB connection. The Expert option provides USB and Ethernet. Encoder configurations are separate equipped models; an encoder is not included with either listed base configuration.

Automatic or individual card feeding

Load up to 50 standard cards in the input hopper or feed a card manually for an individual job. The output hopper holds up to 20 cards. Evolis publishes a colour speed of up to 150 cards per hour for the original Zenius, with actual output affected by print settings and handling.

The original Zenius family has Windows, macOS and Linux driver support, subject to the particular operating-system version. Before ordering this legacy model, confirm your current workstation, required driver, card-design software and compatible ribbon with ACB. Printing a card design does not write a magnetic stripe or smart-card chip.

Can I connect the Classic printer by Ethernet?

The original Classic configuration uses USB. Ethernet belongs to the original Expert configurations, and the later Zenius 2 also has its own model choices. Therefore, check the full model name instead of assuming that every Zenius printer has the same connections or encoder options.
