About this product

FARGO DTC1250e dual-sided ID card printer

The FARGO DTC1250e dual-sided printer produces colour or monochrome plastic ID cards directly onto approved card stock. The duplex configuration automatically turns each card, allowing a photograph and name on the front with contact details, terms or a barcode on the reverse.

Choose the supplied configuration

This listing is the duplex DTC1250e, reference 50100. USB 2.0 is standard; Ethernet and encoding require the appropriate configuration. A dual-sided printer does not automatically include a magnetic or smart-card encoder.

Cards, resolution and output

The standard input hopper takes 100 cards at 0.762 mm. The single-sided output capacity is up to 30 cards; the duplex output capacity is up to 100. Approved card thickness is 0.229–1.016 mm, with the correct driver setting and card finish. Standard resolution is 300 × 300 dpi. HID's current platform documentation also describes an optimised 300 × 600 dpi mode; confirm feature support for the supplied unit and its driver/firmware version.

The published timings are 16 seconds for YMCKO and 24 seconds for YMCKOK. They are approximate batch-mode ratings, excluding image processing and encoding time.

Compare the single-sided DTC1250e. See the manufacturer product information and manufacturer technical documentation. Contact ACB to match software, consumables and any required encoding to the supplied printer.

Put useful information on both faces

Keep the portrait and main identification clear on the front. Use the reverse for return details, terms or other information. Automatic duplex printing handles both faces within the same job, reducing manual turning during a batch.

Cards, ribbons and routine cleaning

Review our premium blank white PVC cards in an approved size and thickness. Match the ribbon reference and driver mode to the supplied printer when ordering from the Fargo ribbon range.

The Fargo 86177 cleaning kit is listed by HID for the DTC1250e. Follow the guide for each cleaning card or swab. Keep unprinted stock clean and handle the edges to reduce marks on the printing surface.

DTC1250e dual-sided buying questions

Which rate applies to colour-front, black-reverse cards?

Use the YMCKOK mode rating when comparing that layout. The 16-second YMCKO figure describes a different panel sequence. Finished output also includes computer processing, any encoding and handling.

Can both faces be full colour?

Confirm the supported ribbon and driver mode for your design. Two colour faces can consume more panels per completed card than a one-face job. Approve both faces and calculate consumables from that actual workflow.

Does a duplex printer include an access-card encoder?

Automatic card turning and card-data encoding are separate functions. Check the fitted encoder, software licence and exact card technology if you need to write to a chip or magnetic stripe.

How do I choose replacement cartridges?

Match the cartridge code to your unit and print mode. The earlier 45000 YMCKO reference and newer HID supply references need a compatibility check. Do not choose only by the DTC1250e family name or a similar cartridge appearance.

Would a single-sided printer suit my design?

Compare the single-sided DTC1250e configurations if all required details fit on the front. ACB's photo ID card printing service is another option if you prefer finished cards.
