Plan migration at system level

MIFARE Plus S was designed to provide a migration path from MIFARE Classic infrastructures. Compatibility depends on the reader, firmware, memory mapping, UID handling, software and configured security level. A common 13.56 MHz frequency alone does not establish that a reader or application supports the card.

The chip family supports AES-128-based authentication and integrity functions. NXP describes AES use after the appropriate security upgrade; issuing a Plus card alone does not move an existing installation to AES-protected operation. Confirm the required keys and configuration with the system supplier before migration.

MIFARE Plus S 2K cards for your setup

NXP marks MIFARE Plus S as no longer manufactured. This legacy S generation is distinct from Plus SE and Plus EV2. ACB's listed card stock should be matched to the existing system and intended programming requirements; access permissions are provided by the configured installation.

Document the migration or replenishment requirement

Order MIFARE Plus S 2K cards against a written system specification. Record the reader and firmware, approved security level, UID handling and personalisation requirements. This is useful for an established installation and essential when a provider is planning a change from Classic technology.

Keep electronic testing separate from artwork approval, then bring both results together on a sample card. Check the badge name, portrait and printed number as well as the reader response. Compare MIFARE Classic 1K or DESFire EV2 2K only where the system supplier has approved that different technology; capacity labels alone do not identify an equivalent credential.

MIFARE Plus S 2K cards: buying questions

Is this the current Plus EV2 generation?

No. This listing is for Plus S. NXP marks that chip generation as no longer manufactured. Confirm the required legacy stock and any migration plan with the system supplier.

Does issuing a Plus card automatically enable AES?

The appropriate security level, keys, readers and application configuration are required. Agree and test the complete setup with the system provider rather than treating the blank card as an automatic upgrade.

What should I check about the UID?

This stock is listed with a 7-byte UID. Check that the system expects that identifier format and handles it correctly alongside the memory and security configuration.

Choose the required quantity and check the selected option before adding it to your basket. For help with the card specification, artwork or a matching accessory, contact ACB.
