Yellow, magenta and cyan create the colour image. The resin black panel prints text, line artwork and barcodes. Finally, the clear overlay covers the printed design. This five-panel format is useful when your card needs a colour photograph or logo alongside readable black details.

The original Primacy and Primacy 2 use different consumable families. Therefore, do not choose a ribbon simply because the printer name includes Primacy. Evolis lists R5F008 and the newer R5F208 families separately in its consumables compatibility chart.

The EAA suffix is also part of the reference. Evolis explains that regionalised ribbons must match the printer’s region. Keep the old cassette or box label to hand, then ask ACB to check the reference if you are unsure. This is especially useful when a printer was purchased in a different market.

The nominal 300-print capacity describes the ribbon’s available panel sets. Printing colour on both faces can use more panels for each finished card. Test the intended print mode, allow for reprints and keep enough supplies for your full run. Compare cost per completed card using the same artwork and settings.

Which cards and maintenance supplies do I need?

Choose approved, clean card stock with a suitable printable surface. Start with our blank white PVC cards for conventional photo ID. If you need MIFARE cards, check the access-system technology and printable surface separately. Printing the artwork does not encode the chip.
