Traffic Light Communication Cards - Set of 3

These traffic light communication cards provide three clear stock messages that a person can choose to show: "I am OK", "I need some time" and "I need a break". The green, amber and red cards also use a circle, triangle and octagon, so the message does not depend on colour alone. Each card has a supportive prompt on the reverse.

Agree what the cards mean with the person using them, then let them choose whether and when to show one. Keep the set within easy reach in a wallet or suitable card holder. The messages describe a preference or request; they are not a behaviour score, reward or punishment. A printed message can sit alongside speech, writing or another preferred way of communicating.

What is included?

You receive three double-sided plastic cards in the illustrated stock designs. Each card is approximately 86 x 54mm. The green reverse asks people to keep checking in. The amber reverse asks for time to understand and respond. The red reverse asks for space and the chance to choose when to continue.

Choosing and using the card

Check all six faces in the product images before ordering. Choose this set only if its words and symbols suit the intended user. These are flat printed cards, without Braille, raised symbols, a writable panel or a punched hole. Accessories and individual names are not included.
