Start with the card design and daily workload

First, decide what needs to appear on the card and how many cards you issue in one session. The Smart 70 platform separates printing, input, output, flipping and lamination. Duplex printing or lamination requires the corresponding hardware, so plan those functions before ordering.

Does it print 1,000 full-colour cards per hour?

The 1,000-card/hour figure is a monochrome rating. IDP lists 225 cards per hour for a single-printer YMCKO colour mode. Allow for artwork processing, optional encoding, loading and collecting cards when planning actual output.

Can I add automatic reverse printing later?
