MIFARE Classic EV1 1K cards

MIFARE Classic EV1 1K cards provide replacement or additional credentials for an existing system that accepts this NXP chip family. ACB supplies this offer in packs of 100. Plan the visible badge design alongside the reader and application specification so the finished card serves both purposes.

Check the chip and system

The 1K device provides 1 kB EEPROM organised in sectors, including management and security areas. NXP specifies 13.56 MHz and an ISO/IEC 14443 Type A interface. Confirm the supplied UID variant and the keys or application data required by the installation.

A matching radio interface does not make the card a universal replacement for every access, transport or payment credential. Printing the card face does not enrol it or configure its application data.

Prepare a consistent replacement-card order

When ordering MIFARE Classic EV1 1K cards, keep the approved chip specification with your card template. Include the reader model, UID requirement and any instructions from the system provider. This makes repeat orders easier to check and avoids confusing a similar-looking card with the required credential.

For a staff badge, prepare a clear portrait, readable name and any required printed number. Check the smallest lettering on a sample. Does buying blank stock add it to my access system?

The card still needs the enrolment or personalisation process required by your system. Ask its administrator which UID handling, keys and application data are expected before ordering replacements.

Is the 1K figure all available for my own data?

No. The nominal EEPROM capacity includes management and security areas. Use the approved application layout when deciding whether this card has sufficient space.

Should I choose this chip for a new installation?

NXP lists the family as not recommended for new designs. Discuss the required technology and any migration plan with the system supplier. Existing card stock and the manufacturer's design guidance are separate questions.
